Laurence Watson is a data scientist and entrepreneur with deep experience in energy and climate change. His consultancy, Future Energy Associates, uses data science and machine learning to further the energy transition. His previous work includes changing the financial sector’s view of coal power by modelling asset stranding at Carbon Tracker and tracking coal emissions using satellites. He also led on data science at Ember, an NGO focused on reforming the European carbon market. Laurence also has a breadth of experience within energy policy as a political researcher in Westminster.. He has a degree in physics from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Energy Systems from UCL.
